MMK commissioned continuous hot-dip galvanizing line at its project MMK-Atakas in Turkey at Iskenderun. The facility was supplied by Danieli & C. Officine Meccaniche SpA.
The designed production capacity of the unit is 450 thousand tons p.a. Galvanized steel from the unit will be both sold and also used for further processing at the colour-coating line. The colour-coating line was put into operation at January 15, 2010 and has production capacity of 200 thousand tons.
Construction and facilities installation at MMK-Atakas is advancing in accordance with the schedule. The designed capacity at MMK-Atakas is 2.3 mln tons p.a. which are to be supplied to the domestic market of Turkey and exported as well. MMK-Atakas project was started in October 2007 and full-cycle production is expected to be launched by the end of December 2010.
