2) TUYAP ISTANBUL EXHIBITION AND CONGRESS CENTER

TUYAP was established on 28 June 1979 in Istanbul.  The company initially used the Istanbul Sports and Exhibition Hall and the Etap Marmara Hotel for its events, but as the number of projects multiplied and industry exhibitions became popular, a need for wider areas arose.  Consequently, the Istanbul Exhibition Centre was opened on 30 March 1987.  The prevalent need for a modern exhibition centre in the long term was met by the construction of TUYAP Istanbul Exhibition and Congress Centre in 1996.

With its 60,000 sqm indoor and 60,000 sqm outdoor exhibition area, this facility is the largest private exhibition centre in Turkey.

Following the expansion in Istanbul, projects oriented to Anatolia became of importance, so exhibition centres were opened in Bursa in June 2002, in Konya in May 2003, and in Adana in November 2006.  Celebrating its 27th anniversary, TUYAP has become a leader in exhibition organisations with offices in Ankara, Bursa, Izmir, Adana, Konya, Samsun, Kayseri, Gaziantep and Diyarbakir, as well as contact offices in Moscow, Tbilisi, Sofia, Aleppo and Tehran, and a representative network across 12 countries.  Since its first event in June 1981, Tüyap has organised 990 exhibitions, congresses and conventions, 879 of which were in Turkey.  The country was represented in 30 countries at 111 international events.  TUYAP has adopted the TS EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System on 7 February 2002.

TUYAP is aware of the importance of cooperation with domestic and international business associations, and is a member of the ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association), INTEREXPO , ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) and UFI (The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry).  The company has also pioneered the foundation of Turkish Exhibition Organizers Association, and is currently the president of the association
